DESCRIPTION
We are proud to present this
vintage Japanese black lacquer box
.  It is unusual in that it has the original paper label from the maker.  It is from K. Sata Lacquer and Bamboo Curios Works.  We believe that they were trying to figure out an English spelling from the town in which they were located.  The name of the town has now been standardized to a slightly different English spelling of Shizuika.  Therefore, we think this may be the time of the introduction of U. S. trade to the area.
The box has beautiful birds among flowers and vegetation.  The nice hinges may be pewter or another white metal.  They seem to be engraved.  The inside of the box is lined with paper.

CONDITION
We have completely photographed item for you to judge yourself.  It does show wear which is evident in the pictures.

SHIPPING & HANDLING
Domestic shipping costs are stated in every listing. Delivery Confirmation is added to all items that are shipped in the United States through the Post Office. We always try ship within 48 hours of receiving payment, (unless payment falls on a weekend or holiday.) Please remember once the item ships, I have no control over shipping time. That is in the hands of the carrier.
If damaged in shipping please keep packaging for the insurance claim.

We try to describe all our items very accurately. Returns will ONLY be accepted if an item has been grossly misdescribed. You must contact us within 24 hours of receiving item to get our approval for return. Refund will be for COST OF ITEM ONLY and not shipping cost. Item must be returned in the same condition it was when it left me, before your money will be refunded. Buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance for returned item.
