Vintage Black & Red Lacquered Jewelry Music Box Japan

Up for your consideration is a vtg Black & Red lacquered jewerly music box made in Japan.  This beautiful jewerly box is for parts or repair and being sold as is.  The music box does not work, When I turn the key the wheels on the cart move but once I let go of the key it doesn't do anyting.   I don't know if it needs a battery, if that would help or not. It looks like there was a battery or something that went in the one compartment.  The one door is off the hinge, there is a crack in the mirror, as shown in the photo gallery, thithere is some wear to the jewely box itself.  This beautiful piece comes with the original key.  The jewerly box measures a little over 13" long and 6" wide, and a little over 8" tall.   Please view photos as they are part of my description as well.  Feel free to ask questions, thank you for looking!
