    Description

    Japanese Red Lacquer Mother of Pearl Inlay Polygon Box.
    I love this little box. It has so much going on.
    When the lid is removed, it functions as a separate tray. It is raised on four feet. The underside of the lid has the Japanese symbol.
    The box has mother of pearl inlay on the rim three times over. The exterior lower part of the box is a geometric fireworks of minute inlay. It looks Moorish in design -- particularly the two arches front and back. In addition, each of the 12 sides are outlined in mother of pearl. The top of the box depicts a little boy, whom I think is hunting or tracking an animal.
    The box is 6.5" across and 3.5" tall.
