"Colonel MARININ Yakov at the beginning of the war served as deputy commander of the 146th rifle division. The division entered into battle with the German troops near the city of Kremenets Western Ukraine from the first day. By order of the Minister of Military Administration No. 02936 dated 12/31/1945 he was reinstated in military rank. Dismissed from military service for health reasons. He is currently disabled and has no military awards ..... He is worthy of being awarded the Order of the Patriotic War ...
Later, on April 30, 1947, Colonel MARININ Yakov was also awarded the Order of Lenin .....
For information: 146 The division was formed in September 1939 in the Kiev Special Military District (KOVO). In September 1939, as part of the 13th Rifle Corps of the Ukrainian Front, she took part in the accession of Western Ukraine to the USSR. In June - July 1940, it was part of the troops of the 36th Rifle Corps of the Southern Front, which occupied Bessarabia.
In 1941, the division was surrounded by German troops and fell into the "Kiev boiler". By the end of September, the Germans destroyed the Soviet units who were surrounded.
Officially, 146 sd was disbanded only on December 27, 1941.
