Description
Maker and marks: Three backstamps appear on the reverse of this lovely antique dinner plate. One is the third green white ware mark of Délinières & Co, or D & Co., the classic Limoges firm that became L. Bernardaud, producer of exceptional quality porcelain since 1863 and a major player in Limoges today. The red Bernardaud decorator's mark number 3 also appears along with the mark of
Higgins and Seiter, a high-end New York retailer that closed in 1915.
Age
: The white ware mark was in use from 1894 to 1900. The decorator's mark was in use between 1900 and the 1930s. That means this plate was likely produced in 1900 - the only year that the marks overlap - making it 121 years old.

Design and size
: The scalloped red plate is beautifully hand painted with sections of detailed gold scrollwork that alternate with cartouches of finely painted flowers and green leaves; a floral circle is at the center.
Size
: The plate is 9 1/2 inches wide and weighs 1 pound 1 ounce.
Condition
: There are no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains or repairs. There is noticeable wear to the gold edge and to parts of the design - it's visible in the photos.
Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
